DaimlerChrysler announced in Detroit that it will introduce the Smart on the U.S. market in 2008. Smart will be run through a distribution agreement with United Auto Group. Dave Schembri, who had been running Smart for Mercedes-Benz North America before the automaker disbanded the unit, will head of the unit for United Auto Group.
