Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series

Mercedes-Benz unveils the hot C63 AMG Coupe Black Series. The AMG Black Series is powered by the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 but AMG’s modifications include forged pistons, conrods and crankshaft, a 50% bigger oil cooler and a new ECU, it churns out 517HP and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft)of tarmac-tearing torque.

All this power is channeled to the 19-inch rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch AMG Speedshift transmission. The gearbox has four modes and its fastest gear change time is just 100 milliseconds. Performance is exceptional: the C63 AMG Black Series accelerates from a standstill to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds.

Audi unveiled the facelifted versions of its A5 Coupe, the Sportback and Cabriolet. The 2012 Audi A5 range is available with direct injection engines featuring forced induction and stop-start and energy regeneration system as standard.

The base engine for all models is the updated 4-cylinder 1.8-liter TFSI petrol, which produces 170HP and 320 Nm of torque. The revised four-pot is more frugal with the Coupe returning 5.7 liters/100 km on the combined cycle.

Video: BMW Alpina B6 GT3 Flies and Crashes

Look at the horrific crash involving Alex Plenagl and his BMW Alpina B6 GT3 bolid at last weekend’s ADAC GT Masters championship at the Nurburgring. Plenagl’s Alpina flew over the safety barriers, passed through a BMW sign and crashed onto the concrete wall. I think it is the coolest safety credentials of the BMW Alpina B6 as despite the severity of the crash, Plenagl managed to escape unhurt.

Crazy, crazy russians. The shocking crash test was caught on film by a pair of security cameras im Moscow. The GT-R driver was either street racing with another car or simply trying out the full potential of his high-performance sports coupe on the streets of Moscow. He failed to steer left after passing a black car from the right and ended up crashing into three parked vehicles.
