2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Awarded Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport crossover joins brother’s Lancer on the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety list of Top Safety Picks. The designation applies only to 2012 models, as Mitsubishi made changes to the roof design this year that helped the Outlander Sport score a “Good” rating on the roof strength test. It also earned “Good” marks on frontal offset and side impact tests, and with standard stability control it met all the criteria for the IIHS award.

Mitsubishi UK and its race team has developed a special tuning kit for UK-only Mitsubishi Evo X FQ-400.
The new car promises to be the fastest and most expensive Evo yet.

The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo engine has been boosted with revised ECU programming and a new exhaust to produce around 405bhp, although Mitsubishi hasn’t finalised the figures. Continue reading

Mitsubishi has released a new images of its 10th generation Lancer Evolution. The official debut will make at the 2007 Tokyo Auto Show at the end of October. The EVO X??™s new 2.0-liter turbo engine delivers 276 HP at 6.500 rpm and a maximum torque figure of 422 Nm (311 lb.ft) at 3.500 rpm. The new EVO X will cost $26,100 ??“ 32,600 or ?‚¬18,300 – 23,000. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X will be launched towards the end of November. Sales of the EVO X in Europe, USA and the rest of the world will begin in mid 2008.

2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

Look at the shots of 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, based closely on the Prototype X concept car unveiled earlier this year.

Changes from the concept include less aggressive wheels, regular fog-lights instead of LEDs, a slightly revised grille, a different front fascia, simpler side mirrors, and headlights and taillights with amber indicators.

The final production version will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Lancer Evolution features Mitsubishi??™s S-AWC traction and handling system, which integrates the control of drive torque and braking management with the four-wheel drive system.

Look at the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, caught in camouflage on road testing. Even under the camouflage, we can see that the sheet metal on this test car is identical to that of the Prototype X Concept, finally showed the Prototype X Concept at the NAIAS in January.

Officially arriving in the first quarter of 2008, the Evo X will be powered by a turbocharged version of the 2.0-liter I4, and will be equipped with an AWD system ??” complete with stability control.

In the same category as Subaru’s WRX, the all-wheel-drive system ??” known as “Super-All-Wheel Control” (S-AWC) ??” may make this the best handling vehicle in its class.

Meet 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. Mitsubishi Motors launched the new Outlander in U.S. The 2007 Outlander offers five- or seven-passenger configurations, and a “flap-fold” tailgate to ease cargo loading.

Three Outlander models are offered. It’s the base ES, the LS and the fully-equipped XLS, all powered by a shiny new 3-liter, 220 hp aluminum MIVEC V6, a six-speed Sportronic automatic transmission. LS and XLS models are available with Mitsubishi’s electronically-controlled All-Wheel Control AWD system. The low-emissions Outlander will be the first PZEV V6 offered in the U.S. market.

At the heart of the revamp is a stylish grille and headlights, but new tail-lamps are also promised, plus larger windows.

While the design is described as evolutionary, insiders say the car not only sits on an all-new platform, but gets a reworked 4WD system, too. Flagship models will offer a 250bhp 3.8-litre V6 engine from launch early next year.
