2007 Mercedes CLK63 AMG

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled two new cars in the CLK line: the CLK63 AMG Coupe and Cabriolet. The CLK63 AMG, with 6.2-liter V8, replaces the CLK55 AMG. The new engine makes 481 horses and 465 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a new AMG Speedshift version of the Mercedes 7G-Tronic 7-speed automatic, with shift paddles mounted on the AMG sport steering wheel.

The CLK63 AMG gets a retuned sport suspension and rides on 18-inch, 5-spoke light-alloy wheels. A new AMG high-performance composite brake system is also fitted. AMG has facelifted the CLK’s aero body kit, side air vents and a lip spoiler on the deck lid. The cabin gets new AMG multicontour sport seats trimmed in napa leather. The Coupe achieves 0-62mph time of 5.2 seconds; the Cabriolet is 5.3 sec. With a top speed of 155 mph (electronically limited), the new CLK 500 Coupe and Cabriolet have a combined fuel consumption figure of 24.8 and 24.4mpg.

The CLK 500 Coupe and Cabriolet will arrive at U.S. dealers during the 2007 model year.
