New Bentley Continental V8 Range

Bentley today unveiled its new Continental V8 range powered by the new 4.0-liter V8 engine. The new engine will power both the Continental GT coupe and its GTC convertible sibling. Wolfgang Durheimer, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors , said: “With the new 4.0-liter V8 engine we are widening the appeal of the latest generation of Continentals. The new engine will have all the exhilarating power, drama and performance you would expect from a V8 engine sporting the famous Bentley wings, effortlessly delivered with our characteristic ‘wave of torque’. New details on next Bentley Continental

The next generation of Bentley’s volume model due to arrive in 2011 year.

Styling is once again directed by Dirk van Braeckel. Switching from a Volkswagen Phaeton to an Audi A8 front axle allows for a shorter front overhang and results in a longer wheelbase for the coupe; the track is wider as well. The larger footprint yields a roomier rear seat and trunk.

The Bentley announced that the Arnage line will upgraded. The 2007 Arnage T will equipped with an engine with power upgrade to the great thumping beast of a turbo V8, to 500 horsepower, with a new ZF six-speed autobox to improve fuel economy. R and RL models will get a 50 horsepower boost to 450 hp. Also, the new models are getting Bluetooth.

Bentley to develop a 4×4 SUV based on the next generation VW Touareg-Porsche Cayenne platform. The Bentley 4×4 SUV is expected to be powered by a 6.0 litre Twin Turbo W12 engine from the Bentley Continental GT delivering 560 HP.
