2008 Toyota Aygo

Toyota is developing a tiny 2-seat microcar, called the Aygo, for US market. Designed to compete directly with the ForTwo, the Aygo will be the Japanese automaker’s smallest U.S. offering to date. The microcar will get a fresh look for 2008, with roughly 100 horsepower. An official unveiling planned for the Tokyo Motor Show.

Worldcarfans caught Peugeot testing its all-new replacement for the 307, dubbed 308. Peugeot 308 will arrive in 2008, but Peugeot has decided to show the new model at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor show. The 308 hatchback version that will be the first one to hit the market as four- and two-door.

Power will come from a 2.2 four-cylinder turbo diesel engine delivering 170 HP as well as from the new 1.6 litre fuel injected engine model between 75 and 170 horsepower.

Toyota unveiled long bed versions of its new 2007 Tundra. The Tundra Long Bed work truck will be available in both Regular- and Double-Cab versions, the latter sporting a 165-inch wheelbase and what Toyota claims to be class leading interior volume for a crew of six workers. The bed is 97.6 inches long (8′ 1″), 66.4 inches wide at the gate (5′ 6″), 50 inches wide between the wheel wells (4′ 2″) and 22.2 inches deep (1′ 10″).

Toyota will offer the Tundra Long Bed pickup in basic non-metallic White, Red and Black colors. Standard grade Regular Cab models will also have heavy-duty vinyl flooring.. Toyota is also planning an upgraded SR5 model for the foreman with additional options to pamper the boss and increase his or her productivity.

Look at spy photos of a Chevy HHR prototype. You can see modified front bumper and an added-on front intercooler, indicating for the first time that Chevy was working on a high-powered HHR. Spy shots taken at Germany???s Nurburgring racetrack. The prototype shown has a completely new front bumper, with a large opening feeding air to the turbo’s intercooler. The bumper differs from the standard HHR???s design in that this one is shaped more like an air dam, decreasing the amount of turbulent air that gets pushed under the vehicle when driven at speed. The engine will likely be the 2.0 liter direct injected Ecotec Turbo.

Spy shooters have snapped Porsche Panamera prototype in Germany. The Porsche Panamera is a four-doour “coupe” designed to rival the Mercedes CLS and Aston Martin Rapide. In 2005, a Porsche spokesperson said the Porsche Panamera concept version would unveiled in spring 2007.

Hyundai has released the first photos of its Arnejs c-segment concept, which will be unveiled in Paris later this month. The Arnejs builds on design elements first seen in the Genus concept at Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. The Arnejs pronounced Ar-nez.

Spy shooters have snapped the 2008 Audi A5 coupe in testing in Germany. The 2008 A5 coupe may have a pre-production body shell, but it is hidden under a thick layer of camouflage. 2008 Audi a5 coupe is expected in first part 2007.

Honda Motor has unveiled the 2007 Civic Type R, a hot version of the Euro Civic hatchback. The new Type R will be powered by the naturally-aspirated, high-revving 2.0-litre DOHC i-VTEC enginel. VTEC variable valve timing and VTC variable inlet camshaft technology continue to underpin the engine structure. “Hot Hatch” now takes place at a lower 5,200rpm, and continues all the way to 8,000rpm. Max output is now 201 horsepower at 8,000 rpm, compared to 200 horsepower at 7,400 rpm. Acceleration to 62 mph takes 6.6 seconds.

Pricing has yet to be announced for the Type-R. 2007 Honda Civic Type R will go on sale next March in the UK.
