2007 Nissan Qashqai

Nissan revealed the 2007 Qashqai, a compact crossover. It’s a new model for the European market only. Four engine options will be available ??? two diesel and two gasoline powers. The 1.6-litre gas engine offers 115 horsepower and 160Nm or torque, while the 2.0-litre produces 140 horsepower and 200Nm. The diesel engine options ??? 1.5- and 2.0-litre – 106 and 150 hp, respectively and 240 and 320Nm of torque. Gearbox choices will include a five- and six-speed manual, a new six-speed automatic and a CVT.

Sales will starting in February 2007. There has been no word on U.S. market availability.

Citroen C-Metisse concept

French automaker Citroen has unveiled the C-Metisse four-door coupe concept, which will be on display at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. C-Metisse is constructed from lightweight carbon fiber, and driven by the same high-tech powertrain as the C4 HDi hybrid concept. The only difference is the electric motors on the C-Metisse are fitted to the rear wheels, rather than the front.

The 2008 Ford Five Hundred was caught in testing by spy photographer Chris Doane. The facelifted Five Hundred sans grille disguise in testing. Cool spy shots – the grille is completely uncovered, revealing the new three-bar look to the car!

The 2008 Five Hundred is expected to go on sale in April 2007. In early July 2007, Ford will begin offering an all-new 3.5-liter DOHC V6 and possibly even an optional 3.0-liter V6 hybrid powerplant. The car will be official shown at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show.

Meet 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. Mitsubishi Motors launched the new Outlander in U.S. The 2007 Outlander offers five- or seven-passenger configurations, and a “flap-fold” tailgate to ease cargo loading.

Three Outlander models are offered. It’s the base ES, the LS and the fully-equipped XLS, all powered by a shiny new 3-liter, 220 hp aluminum MIVEC V6, a six-speed Sportronic automatic transmission. LS and XLS models are available with Mitsubishi’s electronically-controlled All-Wheel Control AWD system. The low-emissions Outlander will be the first PZEV V6 offered in the U.S. market.

Mercedes has released a photo set of a new SLR McLaren 722 Edition. The SLR car has increased output of 650 hp, a tailor-made suspension configuration, and a sporty interior. The 722 Edition convertible accelerates to 62 mph in only 3.6 seconds, and 124 mph is reached in just 10.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 209 mph.

Look at first photo of BMW Z2 from press-release. There was speculation that the Z2 should have a four-cylinder engine with normally aspirated 1.8- and 2.0-liter engine choices. The new power is expected to appear in a hot version of the 1 Series. Transmission choices should include a standard six-speed manual and an optional double-clutch unit with steering wheel-mounted shift paddles.
