Mitsubishi will show the Mitsubishi Outlander Concept on the Paris Motor Show in September. The new concept really is a Euro Outlander that will launch next year. The 2007 Outlander has already been launched in its home market of Japan.

The Outlander Concept gets a Europe-only “Mount-Fuji grille, 20-inch wheels and a Metallic Red paint job with silver accents on the roof rails, side body strips, door handles, front skid plate and grill surround. The engine will be a Volkswagen-supplied 2.0L turbodiesel that develops 138 hp.

Smart Debuts in U.S. in 2008

DaimlerChrysler announced in Detroit that it will introduce the Smart on the U.S. market in 2008. Smart will be run through a distribution agreement with United Auto Group. Dave Schembri, who had been running Smart for Mercedes-Benz North America before the automaker disbanded the unit, will head of the unit for United Auto Group.

The new Chrysler Sebring will debut at the London International Motor Show in July. 2007 Sebring will be available in the UK in mid-2007 in RHD format with a choice of gas or diesel engines. The diesel is the same VW-sourced unit available in the European-market Dodge Caliber, and that a hardtop coupe+convertible is also likely.
