General Motors unveiled its new two-door Buick Riviera concept at the Auto China motor show in Shanghai. The Buick Riviera Concept’s mule is to give us an idea of how Buick’s design language will evolve in its next generation of cars.
“The new Riviera offers a preview of Buick’s future design language,” Shanghai General Motors President Ye Yongming said. Designed and engineered in China at a joint venture between GM and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation, the Riviera is said to draw inspiration from a number of Buick cars ranging from the Electra 225 to classic Riviera coupes of the 1960s and 1970s, but the result is a unique looking sports car.
