Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its facelifted 2009 A-Class. The 2009 A-Class exterior facelift includes new front and rear bumpers, redesigned headlamps, a new radiator grille and new tail-light crystals. Inside, 2009 A-Class includes a new choice of upholstery fabrics along with a new aluminum trim for the dashboard.
The 2009 Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be offered with the same engine range. The 2009 A-Class will be available in Mercedes-Benz dealerships this summer.
Eight people have been killed and 141 injured after a devastating 200-car pile up on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway today.
Emergency workers said the cars smashed into each other in thick fog at around 6.45 am on the Dubai-bound side of Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Road.
Ninety-two cars caught fire in the smash-ups, Khalifa Al Darrai, chief executive of the Ambulance Service Centre in Dubai, told UAE weekly Xpress.
“Patients were lying on the road. Thankfully, they had abandoned their cars or else the death toll would have risen significantly,” Al Darrai said.
As of 1.00 pm on Tuesday, a total of 141 injuries were reported, of which 39 were major injuries and 102 minor, Xpress reported on its website. Crash victims were taken to Rashid Hospital in Dubai and Al Rahba and Al Mafraq hospitals in Abu Dhabi for treatment.
“There were six buses carrying labourers, three buses had 50 passengers each.
“I have never witnessed an accident of this scale before.”
Eyewitnesses at the scene said it was “mayhem”.
“There is a car which is completely charred, that is all I can tell – I cannot tell the brand, or if it’s one car or two. All I can is that it was once white, ” said Rami Dia, a 31-year-old business development manager, speaking to ArabianBusiness.com from the scene.
Dubai Police said in a traffic update at 12.45 pm that the road from Dubai to Abu Dhabi was partially closed, and where the accident happened the road was completely blocked.

The tuned SLR Roadster goes from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 sec and reaches a top speed of 337 km/h (211 mph).

Available from this summer, the new Mercedes-Benz CL 500 4MATIC gets latest permanent all-wheel drive system that has already proven successful in the S-Class. The newly-developed 4MATIC is the lightest drive system of its kind weighing in at just 70 kg or 154 lbs.
The combined NEDC fuel consumption of the CL 500 4MATIC is 12.1 litres per 100 kilometres or 19.5 US MPG, which puts it at the same level as the CL 500 with rear-wheel drive. The CL 500 4MATIC requires 5.4 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 MPH), and it reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h or 155 MPH.

Afzal Kahn, head of the Kahn Design and Project Kahn aftermarket tuning house, placed the winning bid of 375k pounds, which comes to more than 440k pounds with tax (the equivalent of about $873,000). Kahn will reportedly (and fittingly) put the F1 plate on his custom Mercedes SLR McLaren. How does he feel about blowing that much cash on a license plate?

The new Alfa Romeo 149 was caught in camo. The 149 will be based on the Fiat Bravo platform. That corresponds to a bigger 149 than the 147 it replaces.
The 149 is long, measuring some 4.3 metres, which is not far off the old 156. The facelifted Cayman was caught on public roads. Official details are still under wraps, but the only obvious styling change is at the rear where the shape of the lights on both models have been changed. Giving the lamps more character, designers have added a more curvaceous shape.
At the front, 911 Turbo style LED lamps have been fitted beside a new grille. Expect a makeover inside too, where upgraded materials will be added.
