Fiat 500 has been elected Car of the Year 2008. The award ceremony for Car of the Year 2008, organised by the German magazine Stern, will take place in Berlin on 28 January 2008.

This is the second time ? the first was the Fiat Panda in 2004 ? that an A-segment model has won the prestigious award. Interestingly, the Fiat Group has increased its wins to twelve: the Fiat 124 (1967), Fiat 128 (1970), Fiat 127 (1972), Lancia Delta (1980), Fiat Uno (1984), Fiat Tipo (1989), Fiat Punto (1995), Fiat Bravo/Brava (1996), Alfa 156 (1998), Alfa 147 (2001), Fiat Panda (2004) and the Fiat 500 (2008).

Look at the new photos of the facelifted 2009 Nissan Murano. The new Murano will be revealed at the LA Auto Show tomorrow. Unlike the 2009 Murano???s exterior design which is more evolutionary than revolutionary, the crossover???s interior is all-new and definitely more upscale looking.

Sales are set to start in early 2008 and the new Murano will be offered in front- and all-wheel-drive versions both of which will be equipped with Nissan’s 265 Hp, 3.5-liter V-6 and a continuously variable transmission.

MINI Monte

Spy shooters caught the new MINI’s pseudo-SUV undergoing testing. Meet MINI Monte, which will arrives in showrooms sometime in 2009. While we’re equally perplexed by both the notion of a biggie-sized MINI and the name ‘Monte’, at least the latter rolls off the tongue nicely.

The shots show what is essentially a stretched Clubman with a slightly jacked-up ride height, but the added length won’t include the addition of another set of doors. The Monte will be equipped by a variety of gasoline- and diesel-powered engines, ranging from 1.4- to 1.6-liters.

Kia work on their all-new mid-size SUV Borrego, which will make its official debut in January at the Detroit Auto Show. The Kia Borrego will go on american dealership in late spring of 2008 as a 2009 model.
Built with body-on-frame construction the Borrego will be available with either a V6 engine or the company’s first V8 offering, which will also boast Kia’s largest towing capacity to date.

Hyundai dream about its lexus-style big sedan. Spyshooters have been chasing down Hyundai’s test mule in camo. The new full-size executive sedan since it debuted as the Concept Genesis at the New York Auto Show in spring of 2007. To be launched in 2008, the Hyundai Genesis will be Hyundai’s first rear-wheel-drive V8 model. These spy images show an unknown, bigger F-segment luxury sedan. Sources state the more prestigious luxury sedan will be available on all major markets throughout the world and equipped with a user interface similar to BMW’s iDrive system as well as V6 and V8 engines producing 250 bhp to over 350 bhp. The Hyundai’s luxury car is expected to debut in 2009.

The 2008 Skoda Superb was spied in camouflage in Death Valley, USA. The second-generation Superb will make its debute at the Geneva Show in March, 2008.

Based on the VW’s Passat, Skoda???s flagship model will dump the 4door sedan layout of the current Superb in favour of a 5door notchback style body. The new Skoda Superb will be offered with a wide range of diesel and petrol engines, including the 140Hp 1.4 TSI and 160Hp 1.8 TSI petrol units. Sales are expected to start after the Geneva Show.
