Maybach 62 Landaulet
Maybach has been released photos its new 62 Landaulet, which will make a world debut at the upcoming Dubai Motor Show. The car is a new semi-convertible version of the 62 saloon that officials will be calling a concept, but a limited production run of just 20 examples is all but confirmed for early next year.
The new model is based on the current Maybach 62 with adopts a sliding roof over the rear compartment. Opening and closing the roof takes 16 seconds.
The car also gets a revised interior with a removable glass panel dividing the front and rear quarters. Appointments in the rear include white leather, piano lacquer and black granite surfaces.
The 62 Landaulet study is powered by an uprated version of the V12 engine from the Maybach 62 S. Thanks to twin turbochargers and water intercooling, the V12 develops a maximum output of 612hp (450 kW) from its 6.0L of displacement. This is continuously available between 4,800 and 5,100rpm, and the engine also delivers its peak torque of 1,000Nm between 2,000 and 4,000 rpm.

Police Lotus Exige
Sussex Police get a new hot car on the force: a 140mph supercharged Lotus Exige. Sussex Police are showcasing the lightweight Lotus at events to get keen young drivers to talk to them.
The police Exige is capable of topping 140mph and accelerating from 0-60mph in just 4.1 seconds.
Sergeant Paul Masterton said: ???Many places in Sussex have a problem with youths speeding around, with their stereos blaring, making a general nuisance of themselves.
???We get calls about it every weekend, but when we turn up they usually speed off in the opposite direction as soon as they see us. It means we can never engage directly with these young people, and tell them about the dangers they???re causing.
???When we pull up in this Lotus, however, it???s usually them that are approaching us to have a look at the car!???
Sergeant Masterton said: ???A huge number of 17 to 25-year-olds die or cause other deaths on the roads each year, and even more suffer serious injury.

BMW Concept 1 Series tii
The BMW Concept 1 Series tii was unveiled at Tokyo Auto show. Finished in Alpine White with black stripes and accented with black and blue elements, the 1 Series tii has been lightened through the use of carbon fiber on the hood and other trim elements like the rear diffuser insert, mirror covers, gurney flap, and intakes on the front air dam. Both the front and rear bumpers and the side sills are new designs exclusive to the tii. 18″ split-spoke wheels take up residence in the corners, and overall, the car has a squat, purposeful look.
Inside, BMW covers as many surfaces as possible in black alcantara, with white accents on the seats and steering wheel. BMW gives the tachometer top billing in the instrument cluster by making it white-faced. Unfortunately, the BMW Concept 1 Series tii doesn’t come with any details related to its actual performance upgrades.

Crashed BMW M5 Touring
Guy from Hungary posted a set of images from a serious car crash he had in his M5 Touring. The accident occurred on the autobahn when he was travelling at about 112 mph. After hearing a loud bang from the right side, the car went out of control spinning sideways at 87 mph. It hit the roadside barrier several times before flipping over two times and coming to a halt.
Luckily, neither driver, his wife or his 7-month-old daughter that were on board that day got hurt. The accident was caused by a puncture to the rear right tyre. Although the Bimmer was fitted with a TPM system (Tire Pressure Management) the system never gave any warning whatsoever.

Audi A1 Metroproject Quattro
Audi has released photos for its new A1 Metroproject Quattro concept. The new Metroproject Quattro will be displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show. The Audi metroproject Quattrois a pretty small car, designed to take on BMW???s MINI Cooper with its more masculine and upscale design.
The coup??-like roof line and aluminium arches that run along the top edge of the car give it an aggressive stance, while the large Audi grille features up front.
Under the bonnet is a 1.4L TFSI engine developing 110kW (150 bhp), whose power is directed to the front wheels through an S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox. A 30kW (41hp) electric motor positioned on the rear axle is able to deliver an additional 200Nm of torque when you put the foot down. A true plug-in hybrid, the electric motor is capable of powering the metroproject on its own for zero-emission driving in residential areas. The capacity of the lithium-ion batteries allows the metroproject to travel up to 100km in pure electric mode and the motor can be recharged from any power socket, however the system does add 70kg to the total weight of the concept.
