Volkswagen GTI W12 concept

Volkswagen revealed the GTI W12 concept ??? an high-performance concept version of its GTI hatchback. Featuring a 12-cylinder, 6.0 liter engine, the Volkswagen GTI W12 can hit 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds.

Delivering 650 hp and 553 pound feet of torque, this GTI concept uses the same powerplant found in the Bentley Continental, Audi A8, Volkswagen Phaeton, and Touareg. The engine is based on two narrow-angle VR6 engines joined at the crank.

The car features extensive body modifications for increased aerodynamics and rides on 19-inch wheels. Volkswagen says the GTI W12 can hit a top speed of 202 mph.

Audi Clubsport quattro concept

Audi unveiled the Clubsport quattro concept ??? a modified TT “speedster” on display at a tuning event in Austria. The new Audi concept has more visual heft, thanks to the TT’s high sides and chunkier 21st-century design. In front, this thing’s anything but subtle. The dominant shield grille is flanked by large intakes that are presumably required to feed the 300-horsepower TFSI four-cylinder residing behind them.

It features a 300 horsepower 2.0-liter TFSI powerplant, an S-Tronic dual-clutch gearbox, ceramic brakes, and 20-inch wheels.

GM has now unveiled its newest city car, called Agila. Opel (Vauxhall) Agila, 5-door hatch, will introduced this September in Frankfurt and hit European showrooms next spring.

The new Opel (Vauxhall) Agila based on the Suzuki Swift platform and can be configured to haul up to 40 cubic feet of cargo (with the rear seats flipped down) and will be available with a trio of economy-minded small engines. A 1.0L 65-hp three-cylinder engine will serve as the base, paired with a 5-speed manual. The top engine offered will be a 1.2-liter four with 86 horses and an optional automatic transmission. Finally, a 1.3L diesel will round out the range and stake out the middle ground in terms of power, delivering 75 ponies along with a healthy 140 lb-ft of torque.

Look at the 2008 BMW 1 Series convertible, which was spied Brenda’s Priddy guys. The new BMW’s convertible have been confirmed for early 2008, but for now a two-door coupe is the only model BMW officials will talk about.

Spy photographers have shots of new Opel Vectra (US customers know this car as Saturn Aura). The sedan shown in the photo will be a new generation of Opel Vectra and accompanied by a five door hatch and wagon variants. We’ll be seeing the new Vectra pretty much intact on American shores in a couple of years wearing Saturn Aura badges.

2008 Saab 9-3 SportCombi

Look at the 2008 Saab 9-3 SportCombi. It is a wagon version of the redesigned Saab 9-3.

The Saab will have more than just new sheetmetal for the 2008 model year. Other changes include an upgraded sound system, Xenon cornering headlights, a more powerful 255 horsepower engine for the 9-3 Aero and the gray leather option has been replaced with a black leather option. Pricing is expected remain largely the same.

Rumors have also been circuiting about a special high-performance model, called the “Black Turbo.” Delivering 300 hp and four-wheel drive, this model aims to put Saab in league with other prestige brands like BMW and Mercedes.

Mercedes-Benz announced a facelifted version of its R-Class. 2008 Mercedes-Benz R-Class offered with the choice of rear-wheel-drive, in addition to the company’s 4Matic system.

The R-Class line-up, which includes the configurations with up to six individual seats, has been expanded to include a five-seat version and a seven-seat variant. The “SUV tourer” continues to be offered in two wheelbase lengths.

On the outside, the facelifted crossover is distinguishable by the a new body styling package at the front and rear, circular fog lamps and 18-inch light-alloy wheels for all V6 versions. The top-of-the-range R 500 4MATIC is fitted with 19-inch wheels. R-Class customers can also choose from three new paint colors: calcite white, sanidine beige or periclase green.

Hyundai RWD V8 coupe

Spy guys caught a new Hyundai coupe prototype in testing in Korea. The hot coupe will based on the BH rear-wheel-drive V8 platform.

The Hyundai’s new Tau V8 engine can produce over 300 horsepower. The test mule is equipped with a basic inline-4 powerplant.

There has been some speculation that this model is the 2009 Hyundai Tiburon, but the general consensus is a new badge will be attached to this decidedly more premium car.

2008 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet

Porsche unveiled the new 911 Turbo Cabriolet. The new Cabriolet based on the new 997 series and will also be powered by a 3.6 liter six-cylinder ???boxer??? engine with biturbo turbocharging and Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG).

The engine generates 480 hp (353 kW) and 620 Nm of torque at 1950 rpm. The manual transmission version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just four seconds. With Tiptronic S the time can be cut to 3.8 seconds. Both versions can reach speeds of up to 310 km/h. Fuel consumption for the 911 Turbo Cabriolet is 12.9 liters per 100 km.

The basic price in euro for the Turbo Cabriolet is EUR 126,600. In Germany the price is EUR 150,862.
