2009 Ford F-150

The next-generation of F-150 was caught on the streets. The 2009 Ford’s track appears to be going at full-throttle, as spies spotted three distinct prototypes on the move ??? standard short-cab, extended-cab, and four-door crew-cab.

Ford is obviously eager to get these pickups to market, to battle the new Toyota Tundra and the redesigned trucks from GM. Just how quick they can be in showrooms is the big question. The 2009 Ford F-150 take an official bow at Detroit’s North American International Auto show, next January.

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster

Mercedes-Benz unveiled the SLR McLaren super sports car in the form of a roadster. Powered by a supercharged (Kompressor) 5.5-liter, 617-hp AMG V8 engine, the SLR McLaren Roadster can achieve a top speed of 207 mph.

With an AMG Speedshift R five-speed automatic transmission the engine delivers maximum torque of 575 pound-feet, and a zero to 62 mph time of 3.8 seconds.

Its body is made entirely of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic materials. Its newly developed roof material offers desirable aerodynamics while up. Favorable aeroacoustics with the top down mean conversation is still possible at well over 120 mph.

The first pics of the new Saab 9-3 were posted to the Saab Turbo Club Sweden forum.

The new 9-3 will receive a face that’s directly inspired by the well received Aero X concept that debuted at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show. The matte black grille set against the gun metal gray paint minimizes the sense of exaggeration, and the car looks significantly more aggressive than the current model.

Ferrari F430 Challenge Stradale

Ferrari F430 Challenge Stradale was spied in Europe during off-road testing on a gravel road.

The Ferrari F430 Challenge Stradale is answer to Porsche’s RS-models. The standard F430 delivers 490 bhp and the Stradale is believed to have at least 520 bhp and to weigh about 220 pounds less. The biggest visible changes are the exhaust pipes that are moved up a bit. Due to safety regulations around the world, the door windows are not made of plastic anymore like on the 360 CS and the wheels have 5 normal bolts instead of one center bolt like on the Challenge cars.

Audi Q5

Hans Lehmann have snapped the first pics of an Audi Q5 prototype in testing on public roads. The Audi Q5, a small luxury crossover, will be underpinned by the A5 platform, including the FSI 2.0L turbo, 3.2L inline six, and even a 4.2L V8. Diesel options will be available in Europe and may be that they’ll be available in the States also.

Other options for the Q5 include hill descent control and air suspension, but due to the small size of the A5 platform a third row doesn’t seem plausible. Audi has a goal to reach 1.5 million annual sales by 2015, and we think the Q5 will go a long way towards that goal.

The final production version will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Lancer Evolution features Mitsubishi???s S-AWC traction and handling system, which integrates the control of drive torque and braking management with the four-wheel drive system.
