As you know, VW already presented the hatchback versions of the seventh generation Golf, now the German carmaker produce the car. Today VW released a video of the its Golf R Cabriolet, based on the Seventh Gols platform.
As we can see, like the prototype models, the only changes made to the concept is the fitting of a deck lid spoiler, and the corner- instead of center-mounted tailpipes. The Golf Mk6 series features the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 267hp as the Golf R hatch, possibly linked to VW’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
The German carmaker had said that the Golf R Cabriolet should be able to complete the 0-100km/h sprint in less than 6.0 seconds and top out at 250km/h. No word about a premier yet, but may be the Golf R Cabriolet will make its official debut at upcoming Detroit Auto Show in January or in Geneva next March.
