Ford has begun testing prototypes for its 2009 Mustang, which was caught on public roads. The Giugiaro Mustang concept that debuted at the LA Auto Show, there are some definite similairities between the front-clips of these two cars. The hoodline on this prototype shares the graceful arc of the Italian-inspired show car, and a similar wheel arch appears to reside beneath the camouflage. A sharp, angled character line also appears to be visible on the prototype’s front bumper, and its angle and placement matches the Giugiaro concept’s nose detail exactly.

2007 BMW 1-Series hatchback

BMW has unveiled the 2007 BMW 1-Series hatchback. The new three-door car goes on sale this spring, and will be offered with five engine in Europe. It’s not known if the three-door model will be offered in the United States, but coupe and convertible variants are expected in America in the coming years.

Model choices include the 130i model, with a 265 horsepower inline-six and a zero to 62 mph time of 6.0 seconds; the 120i with a 170 hp four-cylinder engine and a zero to 62 mph time of 7.7 seconds; the 118i with a 143 hp 4-cyl engine and a zero to 62 mph time of 8.7 seconds; the 120d with a 177 hp common-rail diesel engine and a zero to 62 mph time of 7.5 seconds; and the 118d with a 143 hp common-rail diesel engine and a zero to 62 mph time of 8.9 seconds.

2007 Police Tahoe

It’s a 2007 Police Tahoe, which is apparently the first SUV that was designed to be a law-enforcement machine. Many of the features that make it a good police truck are part of what make the new GMT900 SUVs good vehicles anyway, but it still features its share of specific elements for the boys in blue.

They include a lowered, stiffened suspension, an upfit-ready electrical system, high-capacity radiator, oil cooler, heavy duty brakes with ABS, a skid plate package, tire pressure monitoring system, long-life spark plugs, and an upgraded battery (or two). Power comes from the E85-capable 5.3L Vortec V8 with 320 horsepower.

2008 Nissan Altima coupe

Nissan introduced the 2008 Altima coupe in Los Angeles. The new Altima coupe will go on market in middle 2007. The Altima Coupe rides on a 105.3-inch wheelbase, a full 4 inches shorter than the Sedan. Overall length is 182.5 inches ??? 7.1 inches less than the Sedan. The Coupe also has a lower profile ??? at 55.3 inches it is 2.5 inches shorter than the Sedan. In terms of major body panels, the two cars share only a common hood, with all other panels and lights unique to the coupe.

The new Altima Coupe is offered with a choice of two engines . The 3.5-liter 24-valve DOHC V6 is the “next generation” version of the VQ-series V6 offering 270 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Also available with the new Altima Coupe is a 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve QR25 inline 4-cylinder, producing 175 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Altima funs can chose between a CVT transmission and a 6-speed manual.

2008 Saturn Vue

GM unveiled the 2008 Saturn Vue, a compact five-door crossover based on the european Opel Antara. The 2008 Vue will be available in XE, XR and Red Line trim levels. Will offer a wide range of powertrains, including a more powerful four-cylinder engine, and two V-6 choices mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. Five-speed manual transmission will be available later. All-wheel drive is available with both V-6 engines.

The XE FWD and Vue Green Line models are equipped with the 2.4L Ecotec with variable valve timing. It produces 164 horsepower (122 kW) at 6,300 rpm* and 160 lb.-ft. (221 Nm) of torque at 4,500 rpm. All-wheel-drive Vue XE models come equipped with a 3.5L V-6 engine, delivering 215 horsepower (260 kW) at 5,900 rpm and 220 lb.-ft. (304 Nm) of torque at 2,800 rpm. Vue XR and Vue Red Line, are powered by GM???s 60-degree dual overhead cam 3.6L V-6 VVT that delivers 250 horsepower (186 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 243 lb.-ft. (329 Nm) of torque at 4,400 rpm.

Ford unveiled the Mustang Giugiaro concept ??? a one-off design study by Fabrizio Giugiaro.

The Mustang by Giugiaro appears more compact than the production car, thanks to a reduction of the rear overhang and a signature Giugiaro ???trick??? of tapering the angles on the car to the limit of its mechanical outlines. The vibrant orange concept is wider than the production version. The Giugiaros added 30 millimeters to the front, gradually expanding the width by a full 80 millimeters toward the rear.

The 500 horsepower car features a single curved glass panel that bridges the windshield and rear window, serving as the concept???s roof. Produced by Solutia of Detroit, the panel is made from a special type of crystal that filters out 100 percent of UVA rays while providing unfettered vista views. The car’s doors open vertically, with hinges at the base of the upright A-pillar.

The Lamborghini SUV was caught Lehmann’s guys in testing. Porsche is developing the Italian 4??4 because they???ve proven themselves with their work on the Audi Q7 and the Volkswagen Touareg before it.

Lambo SUV will be powered by the V-10 engine mill currently seeing use in the Audi S6 and S8. A smaller 4.5-liter V-8 could see production, and there is the very real possibility that this Lamborghini will be the first raging bull with a diesel engine under the hood??? think Audi???s 5.9-liter V-12 TDI.

Another Ferrari Enzo destroyed in high-speed crash near Nice, France.
Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov was in critical condition this weekend after crashing his black Ferrari Enzo in Nice on the French Riviera. The car split in half after striking a tree, and subsequently burst into flames. His passenger, russian TV celebrity Tina Kandelaki (married 😉 ), without physical injuries.
