Skoda Begins Production of 2013 Octavia with Sales Start in January

The Czech carmaker starts production of third generation Octavia saloon at its Czech car plant. European sales will start at the end of January 2013. The Octavia is Skoda’s bestselling model. Since the nameplate was first introduced in 1996, Skoda has delivered more than 3.7 million Octavia sedans and estates in more than 100 markets around the globe.

Mazda is unveiled its all-new Mazda6 mid-size sedan, which will make its debut at the LA Auto Show from November 30 to December 9, 2012 and will be launch in January 2013. The newMazda6 will gets a new SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter gasoline engine and a number of fresh technologies. Its include the Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) system that is designed to mitigate front-end collisions at low speeds, and Mazda’s i-ELOOP, which is a capacitor-based brake energy regeneration system for improved fuel consumption.

Today Chevrolet released pricing for its all-new, 2014 Impala full-size sedan which will go on sale next spring. The new model, redesigned from the ground up 2013 Impala, will be offered with a new 2.5-liter 4-cylinder unit delivering 195hp and a 182hp 2.4-liter engine with GM’s eAssist ‘mini hybrid’ system, plus a 3.6-liter V6 that generates 305hp. All these engines will be linked to a six-speed automatic transmission.

VW recalls 2012-2013 Beetle models

As you know, earlier this year, Volkswagen recalled 83 2012 Beetle models for being equipped with the wrong tires. Today Volkswagen has issued a recall for 2,471 Beetle models over faulty occupant control modules in the front passenger seat. According to the NHTSA, if the seat in certain 2012 and 2013 model year vehicles gets wet, the module may malfunction and may not detect the presence of a child restraint. If that happens, the airbag will not shut off and will deploy in the event of a collision. Such a scenario could greatly increase the risk of serious child injury.
