Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Limited Edition

Lamborghini in association with Swiss watchmaker Blancpain has built a limited edition version of its Gallardo. Finished in a black paintwork, the road-legal Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Limited Edition adopts the racing model’s Countach-sized rear-wing and unique engine cover which is said to offer improved ventilation.

The Blancpain Edition also gets Skorpius alloy wheels with yellow-painted brake calipers and discs made from carbon-ceramic composite, while several external components, such as the diffuser and mirror casings are made from carbon-fiber.

Mercedes-Benz A-Class E-Cell

Mercedes-Benz has announced its all-electric A-Class E-Cell car that will enter production this fall. The Mercedes-Benz plans to build 500 A-Class E-Cells and lease the car to customers in Germany, France and the Netherlands.

The lithium-ion powered E-Cell is based on the existing A-Class and Mercedes claims it offers the same safety, space and comfort of its petrol-powered sibling.

2011 Peugeot 508

Peugeot has published today photos and detailed specs on it’s new 508 model that replaces the 407 and 607, and will go on sale in Europe from the beginning of 2011.

The 2011 Peugeot 508 is based on the same platform that the Citroen C5 and C6 models and will be offered with a variety of petrol and diesel engines. Available gasoline engines will include a 1.6-liter VTi with 120HP linked to an electronically-controlled 6-speed manual gearbox, and a 1.6-liter THP turbo with 156HP mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

2011 Buick Regal at IIHS

The 2011 Buick Regal has been examined by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and the results have netted “Good” ratings for front, side, rear and rollover impact protection.

The 2011 Buick Regal is the seventh vehicle from General Motors to earn a Top Safety Pick award, which includes the aforementioned rollover test where the Regal excelled. Buick’s Euro-born sedan (known as Opel Insignia in Europe) was able to withstand almost five-times its weight – up from the federally-mandated standard of 1.5 times.

The all-new Citroen DS4 was unveiled online today ahead of its public debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. The DS4 is based on the recently revealed C4 hatchback.
