2015 Toyota Prius Persona Series Special Edition

Toyota scheduled its next generation Prius special edition to go on sale this September. The 2015 Prius Persona Series Special Edition for U.S. market adds some exterior appointments and equipment features.

The Persona special edition will be offered in two colors, the Blizzard Pearl and Absolutely Red. The other exterior facelift includes 17-inch wheels in a dark metallic finish and heated power mirrors with turning signals. Continue reading

Close to two decades ago, Toyota launched what was largely considered at the time as an geeky experiment for a hybrid model using both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor for its motivation, the Prius. The Prius was so eco-friendly that the government offered incentives to Prius owners at tax time. Open up your tax estimator as the benefits just keep coming. The Toyota Prius is currently in its third generation with Toyota actively developing its successor that will launch in 2015. While it’s too early for Toyota to tease the appearance of the next Prius, the Japanese carmaker has outlined technical details and even targets for fuel economy, with the company stating that it expects to continue its practice of reducing fuel economy by around 10 percent with each new generation of the Prius.

Toyota Recalls 907,000 Corollas and 385,000 Lexus IS Models

Today I have some bad news for japan car owners. Again from Toyota. So, what’s new? Toyota announced two separate recalls involving around 907,000 Corolla models and around 385,000 Lexus IS vehicles from a whole world. Most of the affected cars are located in the U.S. where the recall concerns 752,000 Corolla and Corolla Matrix vehicles from the 2003 and 2004MY, and 270,000 Lexus IS vehicles from the 2006-2012MY.

Toyota Issues Global Recall For 7.4 Million Vehicles

After the massive recall in 2009 and 2010 over the infamous unintended acceleration problems, Toyota has once again issues a global recall for 7.4 million cars over faulty power window glitch in 14 different models. This problem may malfunction and offer a ‘notchy’ or sticky feel during operation. The use of a commercial lubricant, instead of the special fluorine grease used by the factory, may result in the melting of the switch and the emission of smoke.

2013 Toyota Auris and Auris Hybrid Unveiled

Look at the first official photos of the all-new 2013 Toyota Auris and its hybrid variation. This model will be sold in Europe and Japan as the Corolla. The new Auris will make its world premiere at the upcoming Paris Motor Show at the end of September.

The new Auris rides on a modified version of the previous model’s platform keeping the same 2,600mm wheelbase and 1,760mm width, but is 30mm longer at 4,275mm. The interior of the new Auris has been redesigned with higher quality materials.

Toyota prices 2013 Tacoma TRD T/X Baja

Toyota prices its facelifted Tacoma, which go on sale in May. The new Tacoma Baja Series will start at $32,990, plus a delivery fee of $810. That’s for a Tacoma Access Cab model with a manual transmission, the Baja Series package carries an MSRP of $5,015, but you get to subtract $650 in a “factory credit” if you order it, since the Baja’s Off-Road Package is cheaper than the standard Tacoma Off-Road Package. Or to make things simpler, figure the Baja Series Tacoma is going to cost you $4,365 more than the same truck without it.

Toyota Recalling 700,000 Camry, Venza and Tacoma

Toyota recalling approximately 681,500 Camry, Venza and Tacoma vehicles. The first safety recall involves 70,500 Camry sedans from 2009 and 116,000 Venza crossovers from 2009 to 2011 to replace a stop lamp switch. Toyota said that during installation of the contact-type stop lamp switch on one of the U.S assembly lines, silicon grease may have reached the inside of the switch and caused an increase in electrical resistance.

2013 Toyota Land Cruiser Facelift

Toyota has announced first photos and details on the North American version of its facelifted Land Cruiser SUV that will go on sale later this year. In exterior, the facelifted Land Cruiser gains an updated front grille and headlamps with HID low-beams and LED Daytime Running Lights, enlarged front and rear fenders, chrome side moldings, and redesigned outer side mirrors and tail lamps.

The revised model rides on newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels with a high-gloss finish that are shod in P285/60 R18 mud-and-snow steel-belted radial tires.
