BMW Special Edition M3 Coupe

BMW launched a special “M3 Tiger Edition” for Chinese market. It appears that limited production coupe model was well received in China so BMW decided to create yet another special M3, this time called the Matte Edition.

Chinese Porsche Cayenne Clone

Chinese Porsche Cayenne Clone

Here is a ugly Porsche Cayenne clone with a Bentley-style large chrome grille made by Huatai, China’s clone-loving auto manufacturer. The new clone, called Huatai B35, will make its world premiere at this month’s 2010 Beijing Auto Show, the Huatai B35 “improves” upon the first generation Cayenne’s looks by adopting a very Bentley-like fascia with a large chrome grille.

Chery S16

Take a look at this ugly chinese car. Chery Auto plans to start produce this new mini car in April or May 2009.

The Chery S16 was unveiled as a concept at the 2005 Shanghai Auto Show, and since then it has been shown to the world under the name of Chery QQ5 and Chery QQ Sport.

The new Chery S16 features the exterior look and styling elements of concept cars. The C-pillar looks like the D-pillar area of the Chevy Equinox. The front and rear of the model are symmetrically designed.

Measuring 3,747mm x 1,597mm x 1,514mm, the S16 is first two-door four-seater mini model, a bit longer and wider than the Chery QQ.

Volkswagen Lavida

Look at the spy shots of Volkwagen Lavida, which was apparently there for instructions to salesmen and women for the autoshow. One of them had a camera and managed to shoot a few pictures.

Volkwagen Lavida is VW’s China-only sedan that will go into production this summer. The Lavida will be built in China by Shanghai Volkswagen, and could get the Chinese produced 1.4-liter TSI engine as well, but is more likely to come with a 1.8- or 2.0-liter engine.

Chevy Beat

Chevrolet Beat

The Chevrolet Beat concept has been spied on road testing in China.

The Chevrolet Beat was announced at the New York Auto Show in 2007 with GM saying it would be needed for replacement current Chevrolet Spark (Daewoo Matiz).

The Chevy Beat is certainly far less dowdy than the Spark, which is also sold as the Matiz in other markets. If GM were to launch such a good looking car, then surely it would be a hit in China. However, experience has taught us that Chevy cars offered in China differ vastly from the same offerings in the USA, especially when it comes to interiors!
